Planeta Kino is a brand that speaks to moviegoers in their own language. The experience begins long before the screening itself — from the mobile app interface to the atmosphere inside the theatre. The company was the first in Ukraine to ditch paper tickets, launch its own mobile app and build a community of over one million active users. Innovative formats like IMAX, 4DX and RE’LUX have become the signature of a brand that consistently raises the bar for entertainment.
Movies — like any form of entertainment — have only a few seconds to catch attention. Planeta Kino needed a way to communicate with users so that every message hit the mark on the first try.

To maintain user trust and avoid wasting attention on irrelevant offers, the team needed to shift from mass messaging to precise, personalized content — where every message is timely and meaningful.
For Planeta Kino, we developed a content recommendation system that helps the brand engage its audience with relevant messaging across all key channels: push, email and the mobile app.
Our approach:
We built an ensemble of models that analyze previous behavior, preferences, viewing history and in-app activity. At the same time, we implemented a reverse model that identifies the most interested audience for a specific piece of content.
Speed was crucial — the system was optimized so that the very first message aligns with a user’s interests as accurately as possible.
The solution is fully scalable and used across the entire customer base.
Personalized recommendations transformed how Planeta Kino communicates with its audience.
Content stopped being generic — every user now sees what actually matches their interests. This had a direct impact on engagement efficiency.
