About the project

Innovative approach to e-commerce: developed a portal for online/offline ticket sales

The Odessa International Film Festival is a large-scale event. Since 2010, leading filmmakers from around the world have been gathering there. The festival gives birth to new ideas, directions, and trends in Ukrainian and world cinema. Every year, the event becomes a meeting point for culture, innovation, and creative energy, bringing together directors, actors, producers, viewers, and patrons.

The client's problem

The clients approached our team with an ambitious task. The Odessa International Film Festival aimed to completely abandon the third-party provider that organized ticket sales and broadcast the screening schedule. We had limited time to develop and launch the case—only three months.

Main tasks:

  • designing our own platform for online and offline ticket sales with schedule display;
  • ensure system stability during the festival, when the load is highest;
  • create a user-friendly portal for viewers;
Case information

Parallel development of key features, rapid sales launch, system integration: we turned challenges into advantages.

  • OMFK received a trendy portal that offers convenient services for users and can be scaled to meet the needs of the event.

  • Our approach:

  • We had time constraints, so we worked at a dynamic pace. Our team made a strategic decision to shorten the Discovery phase. Instead, we formalized the requirements gathering process as much as possible through UX/UI design. To save time, we conducted development and design in parallel. We launched the first version of the portal with critical but minimal functionality.

    Designers worked on the visual part, while the development team created the administration panel, ticket scanner, schedule, and film library. Just before the launch, we imported the entire customer base from the old platform. Integration with payment systems allowed us to start selling tickets without any delays. We were able to ensure a timely launch at the opening of the festival, while maintaining the functionality and high quality of the product.

Work results:

  • We managed to launch a full-fledged portal for the Odessa International Film Festival within the set deadline—just three months. It features easy online and offline ticket sales, a convenient admin panel, and integrations that ensure uninterrupted service from day one.

  • Integration with banking facilitated the launch of subscription sales without delays.

  • We transferred the entire customer database, preserved purchase history, and maintained system stability.

  • Online and offline ticket offices, administration, and ticket validation are combined into a single complex.

  • With the help of our team’s solutions, the customer received a modern and efficient service. Thanks to its flexible architecture, it is easy to scale and adapt to the future needs of the cinema environment.
