About the project

Organized the entire GoodWine assortment onto virtual shelves

GoodWine is the largest importer and distributor of alcohol and healthy products in Ukraine. The store has over 5,000 types of wine and spirits, 300+ types of craft beer, and nearly 8,000 products available to order.

The client's problem

GoodWine has a vast assortment and high service expectations, but behind it all, the product catalog hadn’t kept pace with either the business ambitions or the technical realities. The system storing thousands of products was outdated, difficult to manage, and not ready for scaling.

Key challenges:

  • lack of a unified logic in the structure of products and categories;
  • difficulty updating and maintaining data on a daily basis;
  • inability to integrate with modern e-commerce and CRM solutions;
  • reliance on manual processes, which slowed down work and reduced quality;
  • витрати на підтримку, які не давали відчутного результату.

The company was looking for an intelligent system that could organize data, adapt to the complex product structure, and serve as a technological backbone for the entire e-commerce operation.

Case information

By applying non-standard solutions and effective approaches, we were able to transform the outdated GoodWine catalog.

  • Now it is a convenient and powerful online showcase that is easily scalable and provides a new level of service quality.

  • Our approach:

    The process of working on the concept began with two interview sessions. This is important in order to fully gather the client’s requirements and expectations. Several simple cases were prepared to test the capabilities of the systems. Together with the customer’s team, after preliminary analysis of the PIM system market in Ukraine, we chose the most optimal PIMCore. After detailing the product card and the main catalog tree, we integrated the system into the company’s current IT landscape and configured integrations with RabbitMQ and S3.

Work results:

  • After implementing the new PIM system, the GoodWine team gained a fully organized, centralized product catalog, which became the foundation for further e-commerce development.

    Our client received:

  • a centralized PIM system with a unified product catalog structure;

  • a flexible product card model with all necessary attributes;

  • a catalog structure adapted to a complex assortment;

  • integration with internal systems;

  • simplified data updates and minimized manual operations.

  • The system became a stable foundation for assortment management, reduced the team’s workload, and provided the technical readiness to scale the e-commerce operation.
